This past week I listed a home at 217 Monroe Ave in River Edge, NJ. It is a beautifully updated home on a lovely tree-lined street in this fabulous town with top-rated schools, access to buses, trains, and plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area.

As usual, I had my photographer do a gorgeous photo and video shoot for the house and I advertised it on all my usual social media sites, websites and blog, with showings starting at the Sunday Open House.

I arrived at the Open House a little before 12pm as my open house was from 12p to 3pm. As I pulled up to the house, I realized what a very busy real estate market we are in and especially for a home in this price range of $569,000. There was already a line of about 10 people waiting outside to get in at about 11:50am. I proceeded to let everyone in two or three at a time because of social distancing guidelines. As I signed everyone in and proceeded to tell them about the house as they walked through, I realized this was going to be a crazy busy day.

At the end of almost 4 hours, I had a total of 72 groups of buyers come through my open house. What amazed me most of all was how incredibly patient and kind every single one of these buyers had been. Sometimes they were waiting for more than half-hour to get into the house. No one complained and everyone was just so courteous and kind and followed protocol with their masks and social distancing measures as was required. It could not have gone smoother.

I left there feeling so inspired. In the crazy world we live in these days, humility, kindness, and patience are everything. I appreciated every single person that came through my Open House so much and I want to say thank you to them.

We wound up having 12 offers on the house and many over asking price. And even when my clients chose an offer and I had to call the other 11 buyers to give them the news, these buyers and their agents were again so kind and understanding.

We are no doubt in a crazy busy Real Estate market. The sellers are getting great turnouts on their listings and wonderful offers on their homes and the buyers are benefitting from incredible low-interest rates. It really is the perfect storm for Real Estate at the moment.
